Welcome to Spot Local
A hidden gem offering a different type of stay in the Algarve. Spot Local is your peaceful retreat combining a specialty coffee café with four guest rooms, set in 3 hectares of rural land, only 19 km from Faro Airport and 9 km from Fuseta Beach. We offer a unique base for your eastern Algarve holiday, where great coffee, food, wine and nature come together, and an invitation to enjoy a slower pace of life.
Spot Local was created as a place to pause, connect, and appreciate the beauty of the Algarvian countryside, while being minutes from larger towns. We fell in love with this piece of land on our very first visit to the Algarve, and are now ready to welcome you to enjoy this idyllic spot, whether as a guest in the café or to stay overnight in one of our rooms. Founded by Daniel, Apphia, and their clumber spaniel Clover.

Staying with us
We offer four welcoming guest rooms, each with a private terrace and bathroom, providing the comforts of home alongside serene views. Each room has its own layout and feel. We invite you to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Nature
Spot Local is located on seven acres of unspoiled land in the Algarve’s barrocal region, filled with olive, carob, almond, medronho, and fig trees. A series of paths wind through our land, allowing you to discover it at your own pace.
Our Café
Our café offers specialty coffee, tea, homemade cakes, and savory bites during the day, along with a curated selection of wines and cocktails in the evening.
We host occasional lunch and supper clubs, cocktail evenings, and curated tastings, from natural wine to specialty coffee.
Our Journey
The Spot team is Daniel, Apphia, and Clover—two humans and one clumber spaniel. We have called Portugal home since 2022, a much-needed change of pace after many years in London. We fell for this quiet corner of the eastern Algarve and this particular plot of land nestled between the Cerro de Sao Miguel and the Ria Formosa. We wanted to create the kind of place we would want to stay on our holidays: thoughtful design, peaceful location, great coffee, with lots of fun places to explore nearby. We welcome you to our land, our guest rooms and our café.
Pet Friendly
We are happy to welcome well-behaved pets into our café and guest rooms. For the comfort of all guests, we ask that pets be on a lead at all times in the café and when exploring our land. Pet stays must be requested in advance. A fee of €20 per night applies.
Clover is always happy to share her tips for pet-friendly places in the Algarve and other parts of Portugal and Spain, with other four-legged friends.
